FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We have attended virtual sessions that are boring monologue of the presenter to the audience. It makes it worse if the visual and sound is terrible, so we understand what you are asking. At iGROW, our team of psychologists, coaches and counsellors have clocked more than 10,000 hrs over the last 2 years. We know some tricks to ensure our sessions are interesting.
The actual activities and engagement depends on the duration and topic. In a 1hr session, we have used spontaneous pop quiz, numbered items on the slide to solicit immediate responses in the chat. We also use the emoji features for participants to react to our content. We will avoid using 3rd party tools such as Slido, Mentimeter, Kahoot and the likes in a 1hr session because we will be spending precious time getting people to use the tool. However for workshops above 2hrs, we will use breakout groups, discussion whiteboards, pulse surveys and 3rd party tools to encourage participation.
While we strive to be evidence-based in our approach and tap into the collective wisdom of the field of psychology, we work extremely hard to make the content accessible and applicable to everyone. Our team uses stories, real-life examples to illustrate the key points. We also use acronyms to help participants remember the key points, such as Unleash your P.O.W.E.R for Covid stress, S.P.E.A.R through your stresses, stay C.A.L.M for anxiety and many others.
