A travel technology company needed to move into new products and did not know which of its own people could lead that. So it profiled all of them.

The engagement

Abacus Travel Systems worked in global distribution for the travel industry, a sector under sustained technological pressure. The company needed to identify personality and strengths across the business to reach peak performance, and specifically to find the leaders it already employed but had not identified.

We profiled the company, ran individual consultations on the results, and built skills workshops on top. The premise was that the capability was already inside the business and the problem was visibility, not supply.

What the client said

"Our company have managed to achieve our KPI in adopting and selling new technology and solutions such as integrated travel management solutions etc through the profiling and training workshops."

"The profiling program enabled us to identify the leaders and develop them to drive our projects. We are able to build a more cohesive strength based team to support our sales and operation needs."

What this one demonstrates

The client connects the people work directly to a commercial outcome, in their own words: KPIs met on adopting and selling new technology. They did not quantify it and we will not do it for them, but the causal claim is theirs, not ours.

It also demonstrates the argument we still make. Most companies going through a transition hire for capability they already have. Profiling before recruiting is cheaper, faster, and considerably better for the people who were already there and were overlooked.
